Meet the Childhood Cancer Heroes

Meet the Childhood Cancer Heroes Meet the Childhood Cancer Heroes

Giving back is something that is so important to us as a company. That's why we donate a portion of every purchase to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to fund childhood cancer research. In honor of their annual Lemonade Days, we created our Bear Hugs print, specially designed to raise awareness for childhood cancer and support childhood cancer research for better treatments and more cures. 100 percent of proceeds from this special print will be donated to our partner, and we hope you love it as much as we do.

We were so lucky to have some childhood cancer heroes join us for our photoshoot of this meaningful print. These cancer survivors and their families inspired us with their stories and melted our hearts with their smiles. These are their stories:

Meet Ace

Ace (left) was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma at three weeks old.

"Ace was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma at three weeks old and is now a healthy little six-year-old boy. He endured chemotherapy and three surgeries. Our experience changed our outlook on life in multiple ways. We were shown how honestly good people can be and were constantly being lifted and blessed by others. We have tried to live our lives to the fullest and take as many trips and getaways as possible. Life is so precious, and we are incredibly grateful for the nurses and doctors that were able to care for Ace and know the best treatments for him."

Meet Finn

"Finn is six years old and was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at just two years old. Finn lost his eye and will continue to have appointments to maintain his prosthesis and implant for the rest of his life. As a parent, having to make such big decisions for a brand new two-year-old is terrifying, and you worry if they'll resent you one day. But to save your child's life, you would do anything."

Both Finn and Ace's families shared with us how important it is to raise awareness for childhood cancer because, unfortunately, it is not uncommon. Each year, more than 17,000 children will receive a cancer diagnosis. By raising awareness and funds for research specifically for pediatric cancers, we can all make a difference in the lives of families experiencing a diagnosis.

If you're interested in getting involved with ALSF, there are many ways to contribute in addition to your purchase. Visit their website to learn about all the opportunities to get your family involved, from hosting a lemonade stand to running a virtual race together.

I love this print! My son just got diagnosed last month with leukemia and it’s been a roller coaster of emotions for all of us. I hope one day I can buy all my kiddos a pair and let their big bro tell them how he beat cancer 🎗️

As a mama with a 21 month old with MDS (an early form of leukemia) I just want to say thank you for your help in fighting childhood cancer. 💛🎗
