How to Spark Sibling Joy With Fresh-Air Fun This Spring

How to Spark Sibling Joy With Fresh-Air Fun This Spring How to Spark Sibling Joy With Fresh-Air Fun This Spring

The days are getting longer, the sun is shining brighter, and outdoor adventures are calling! Springtime is the perfect season to get outside and create meaningful sibling moments. Whether it's a giggle-filled game of tag, a backyard dance party, or a two-kid bike brigade cruising down the sidewalk, the best moments aren’t scripted — they’re sprinkled with spontaneity, silliness, and the simple joy of just being siblings. Plus, when your littles are comfy and coordinated in Soluxe® Bamboo Play styles, they’re free to run, jump, and explore to their hearts’ content!

Ready to make some sibling magic? Here are a few family activities that are low-pressure and high-fun! Bonus: They’re all Play-approved, meaning you can mix, match, and layer your fave LS outfits no matter the activity.

Spend a Weekend Morning at the Farmer’s Market

There’s something undeniably special about a morning stroll through the farmers market. The colors, the smells, the free samples (a kiddo favorite!) — it’s an outing that’s as enriching as it is delicious. Siblings can take turns picking out fresh fruits, chatting with vendors, and maybe even choosing a flower for mom or dad.

Make it extra fun by giving each kiddo their own mini tote bag to collect goodies. Turn it into a scavenger hunt: “Find something red, something crunchy, and something that smells amazing!” They’ll have so much fun while *you* get to enjoy your iced coffee and post your outing on Instagram in peace. Here's why we love it for siblings: shopping together encourages teamwork and decision-making. Who gets to pick the apples? What flavor jam should we try? It’s all about making choices together and learning to share.

Plus, there’s nothing better than getting home and admiring your haul or making something delicious to enjoy as a family! Our Play Patch Pocket Dresses and Relaxed Pocket Tees in matching prints and big or little sizes are the *perfect* choice for storing yummy samples and taking your farmer’s market photo op. Oh, and don’t forget to get there early for the best selection!

Attend an Outdoor Concert in the Park

The sound of music drifting through the park is always pure magic. A live band, open fields, and plenty of space to dance — what’s not to love? Your kiddos will have *so* much fun as front-row VIPs where the dance floor is just a big, open field, and the dress code is comfy, durable Play styles made for twirling, crawling, and everything else their little heart desires. (We’ll just leave these laundry tips right here.)

Pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and let siblings groove! If energy levels start to dip between songs, make it extra fun by bringing bubbles to blow or toy instruments to try out. We also love an air guitar moment or family dance-off! For siblings, these concerts aren’t just about the music. Dancing together fosters connection, self-expression, and lasting memories.

Big brothers showing little sisters their best two-step. Tiny toes tapping along to the beat. An impromptu sibling jam session with invisible drumsticks and imaginary microphones. It’s all about feeling free, silly, and completely in sync. Flutter Twirl Dresses make every dance move effortless, and lightweight Play styles like Zip Hoodies means they’re cozy even if the sun sets before the last song.

Take a Family Bike Ride or Stroller Walk

The wheels are turning, the wind is rushing past, and the great outdoors is ready to be explored! Whether your crew is pedaling through a scenic trail or taking a leisurely neighborhood stroll, getting outside on wheels is a perfect way to spark adventure. Plus, sometimes you just need to get out of the house!

Load up the stroller, grab the helmets, and set off on a journey where every turn holds a new possibility. It’s always more fun to have a destination in mind, making it feel more like a mission! Maybe it’s a local ice cream shop (have you seen our Sweet Scoops print?) or a park with a great playground that awaits you. For an added thrill, let the siblings be navigators! With a little parental guidance, they can alternate choosing the next turn — who knows where you’ll end up?

Biking and walking aren’t just great exercise but the perfect way for siblings to build confidence and teamwork. Older kids can help younger ones learn to balance, push the stroller, or race each other to the next landmark. The best part? It’s not about the destination but about the journey, the laughter, and the feeling of fresh spring air.

Sensory-friendly Play shorts are perfect for movement, while cozy joggers keep little legs comfy if there’s a slight chill. No matter how fast they pedal or how far they stroll, these soft, stretchy styles keep up with every twist and turn.

Grow Together with a Gardening Day

There’s something magical about digging in the dirt and watching something grow. Whether it’s vibrant tulips or homegrown tomatoes, a gardening day is a perfect way to teach patience, care, and the nostalgic joy of getting a little dirty.

Assign each sibling their own “plot” to tend to. Let them decorate plant markers with their names and drawings or be the ones to pick out the seeds of what’s planted. Gardening together is educational and fosters a great life skill of growing your own food.

For siblings, it can be a great lesson in cooperation of who tends to what — who waters, who digs, who plants? Plus, it’s an inspiring way for kids to experience the fruits of their labor (literally) by watching their veggies, fruit, or flowers grow! Our soft, washable Play styles handle all the digging, watering, and joyful mess-making with ease. We love our new Doodle Blooms print for spring gardening!

Trying a New Sport Together

Game on! A little sibling competition never hurts, right? Nothing brings out the giggles (and a little friendly sibling rivalry) like trying a brand-new sport together! Whether your crew is serving up fun on the pickleball court, kicking around a soccer ball, or seeing who can hula hoop the longest, there’s something magical about discovering a new way to move, Play, and compete. We love pickleball because it’s easy to learn, fast-paced, and perfect for all ages.

Create your own mini family Olympics with a mix of activities — maybe a jump rope challenge, a quick game of tag between matches, or a sibling relay race. The only rule? Have fun! Beyond the thrill of competition, sports help siblings build teamwork, strength, and coordination. When choosing an activity,  Dr. Kimberly Bennett, a psychologist and parenting expert, recommends this: “Expose children to different experiences. Let them try a variety of activities at home and in social settings.”

Whether they’re cheering each other on or coaching little sibs on their skills, siblings will have *so* much fun moving, laughing, and getting a little sweaty. Our LS Play styles are durable and designed with Soluxe® Bamboo for natural UV protection to keep up with every move! The sensory-friendly fabric means kiddos can focus on fun (and not itchy, restrictive clothes!).

The Best Part? Just Being Together

No matter how you spend your days this season, the most important thing is that you’re spending them together. From dancing in the park to getting their hands in the dirt, every little moment is a chance to make memories.

With LS Play styles, they’ll be comfy, matchy, and ready to make magic. So, grab your little adventurers, slip them into their favorite sets, and let the sibling fun begin, grass stains and all.

Because the best outfits aren’t just made to look cute — they’re made to Play!

Love this! We go on a family stroller walk with our dog each night after dinner and on the weekends we make an effort to go somewhere that we can stroller walk and then end up at the park!

I LOVE a trip to the farmers market – we live in Ohio, so I’m glad it’s starting to warm up and we’ll be able to visit our favorite stands again! I’m also looking forward to getting a bike to take my little girl on rides with me… hoping the old adage “it’s like riding a bike” is true, because I haven’t ridden a bike in decades! 🚲

We love going for walks around our Marina and end the walk at the park that is there! The kids love to go swing and chase each other. We also love to go to the expos and farmers markets that are local to us just to get out of the house and support our local businesses. We can’t wait for warmer weather and time together!

My son is 11 months old and we started getting our veggie and fruit garden ready for planting! Crawling all around experiencing new textures like mud, weeds, grass. My husband and I been gardening for about 10 years now and we want to pass on the knowledge of canning your own food!
Lots of work but it tastes so much better! Heres to spring 2025!

As a new mom as of last spring, we’re excited to start new traditions and activities this year. We will be biking with our trailer attached for our daughter to see all the amazing scenery on our rides. She loves flowers and we can’t wait to garden with her!

We love riding our bikes or scooters down to the elementary school parking lot on weekends! No cars around so the kids can practice and race, and we can have a picnic in the grassy shade around the parking lot.

My favorite activity is we go to the store and pick out all kinds of outdoor plants to beautify our home. This will be the 1st year I do the same for my own family now. I can’t wait to have all the flowers blooming to add life to our house.

My kids and I love to give our backyard a clean up job after all the winter weather and rain. They have their own gardening supplies and have a blast picking weeds and seeing the flowers rebloom. We fill our hummingbird feeder and have a picnic lunch while we wait for our little humming bird friends to pay us a visit. A little Sleepies hummingbird print would be so cute! Manifesting ☺️

Our favorite part about spring time is that it feels like a fresh start. After being stuck in the house during the winter it’s so nice to do spring cleaning, the sun is out, the colors are coming back, the kids get to play outside…another great part about the spring is that we get to ditch the winter coats & actually be able to show off our outfits!!!
